Criteria
KNVI Open Standards KOS
The KNVI Open Standards (KOS) is committed to open management standards. Standards support data exchange between information systems. The openness ensures that anyone can use the standard.
All standards on the KOS list are “open”. For this, KOS applies 5 requirements that a standard must meet to be considered an “open standard”. *(partly from the Forum of Open Standards)
The required documentation must be readily available.
There should be no obstacles in the field of intellectual property rights.
There must be sufficient opportunities for stakeholders to participate during the development of the standard.
The independence and sustainability of the standardization organization must be guaranteed.
Standards serve to improve interoperability.
